Keeping in mind the increasing pace of concretization in the cities of India, the the UGC (University Grants Commission) has been promoting more and more plantation activities. To promote such activities in campuses of higher educational institutions and colleges, the UGC has urged the institutions to develop Nagar Vans / Vatikas in their institution premises in coordination with Forest Department of the States/ UTs.
