BU is losing and will continue to lose the green cover and will be a concrete jungle soon, unless we continue to oppose it. Trees are being felled, animals and birds are bring displaced from their natural habitat, and a lot of buildings are coming up in the name of "Urbanization and modernization". We aren't asking for zero development at all. We are fighting for a sustainable development plan. Buildings can be developed vertically, instead of cutting trees to build structures of a couple of floors.
We have already lost the "Garden City" tag of Namma Bengaluru, and is on the verge of attaining the "Garbage City" or "Concrete City" due to Urbanization at such speed. Let's not lose our "University with a BioPark" tag of BU for "University with a Concrete Park" tag
